Alice Vs Jabberwocky WINNERS!!!Ok first of all, I know "Jabberwocky" is the name of the poem not the creature.. but it's my contest and I like that spelling.
Plus it sounds cuter, like when the Red Queen in the Burton film says it.

Secondly dear GOD I have spent the last hour trying to pick just 3.... I narrowed it to about 8 with help from the polls but I wish I could reward more than just 3
Everyone did a fantastic job... So many different takes, styles and approaches its been amazing to see!.
So much so I might have to do more contests in the future

I'm doing a competition! Yup first one so be kind if I miss a few steps (PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM).
There is so little art out there for what is one of my favourite characters from the first game, I decided there needs to be more!!.

The Theme: is Alice Vs The Jabberwocky!.
The piece must at least contain Alice and the Jabberwocky
(THIS IS THE AMERICAN MCGEE JABBERWOCKY not the original), however some deviation is allowed to the design, it just clearly has to be based off either the game version or the Balrog looking design that was released in model form for the first game.
You can have as much in addition to that requirement (other characters etc), but it must at least contain the two of them.

The Medium: Almost all visual mediums will be accepted, Traditional/Digital/Mixed/Photography (if you happen to have a real Jabberwocky)/3D etc.
Sadly this does Exclude Film and Animation, and all non Visual mediums.
All work must be your own or stock and resources from DA with credit and links given (if I cannot be 100% sure then your piece will not be accepted).
The submission must be a new piece for the competition.
The piece must be of a reasonable standard, I don't want to discourage anyone but please be sure to put your best work forward as I am funding the prizes myself and want to do one hell of an animation at the end!.
I'm not asking the world just take your time, and unless you are a god in MSPaint.. there are free alternatives like Blender/Gimp out there
.All quite clearly rushed entries will be denied on these grounds, sorry.
Additionally no use of official art work (other than the game title/text/script) is accepted, with the exception of XNALara models as reference (that means if you use one or more they have to be modified/painted over enough to be unrecognisable, so no pure XNALara pieces will be accepted.

The Running Time and Main Rules:
The competition starts now and ends on the tolling of 12:00 Midnight Febuary 14th 2013 UK time (GMT).
All entries should be submitted via note or message on this journal to me by this time.
ANYONE on DA can enter, you do NOT need to be in any specific group.
You can submit as many entries as you like but only one/1 can make it to the final 3.
No sexually explicit or offensive content like the Wockey being Hitler with huge Swastika behind him etc.

And one LAST very important request.
The layout, if possible and for the purpose of animating keep the individual layers of the image to hand (this applies to digital entries more than traditional of course).
But is it MUCH easier to animate something if I don't have to cut it up and fill in the blanks behind layers/characters etc

and likewise lifehas been getting in the way of me finishing pieces when I wanted to.
I'm glad it has give you some ideas and drive, it looks like a lot of people liked the theme...I might hold another contest some time
The first game does need more love,so I will see your piece when its finished
But also, in most cases, in fact allways, the condition of our lifes affects us more than we think, including our beliefs, moods, self-esteems and much more. And nowadays, it's so stressy in this world unfortunately...
And yes totally, you really inspired me here. And I've never ever drawn Jabberwock before your contest. So this was a success for me even tough I made it in time or not, I have learned to draw about 2 new characters thanks to this contest.
And again, I really liked how choose a theme after the first game, the first game really needs more love in my oponion. I hardly see any art of it out there and it saddens me because the first game feels legendary for me.
I don't wanna tell you and decide what themes you are to have for your contests, but in my personal oponion and wish, AMA themes would be lovely indeed. But again, it's just a little tip.
Other, thank you so much for your support. My piece is still not finnished, but it'll take the time it takes and I don't wanna rush it. But now I can show how inspired I was and give it all the tome it needs, and then show it to you.
As for the first game needing more love I might pick the first game again as a theme for any Alice contests I do (if my new job works out I will have enough money to do 2-3 contests a year with 2-3 months given to each like this).
I would not mind something related to perhaps the Hatter/ and the world of his from the first game.
After perhaps a Portal contest hehe.
